Frequently asked questions

Practical answers about selecting equipment and preparing a project. Open a question to read the details.

What information is needed for a useful quotation?

Start with the material grade and applicable standards, incoming and finished thickness and width, coil weight and diameters, or tube and section sizes. Add the product mix, annual tonnage, dimensional tolerances, surface requirements and the intended application. A sample product table is more useful than a single maximum size.

Also state the project location, available workshop space, existing equipment, utilities and target start-up date. Mark undecided items as TBD; PRC can discuss selection assumptions before the technical scope is fixed. A budget range is optional. Final technical and commercial terms are confirmed in the project documents.

How is the equipment configuration selected?

Selection starts with the product program, raw-material condition, batch sizes and quality targets. Different products may need different routes; pickling, cold rolling, cleaning, annealing, metallic coating, colour coating and coil processing are not a mandatory sequence for every material.

For cold rolling, compare reversing and tandem arrangements against output and changeover needs. Continuous and bell annealing are distinct configurations, while cleaning, skin-pass rolling and tension levelling perform separate functions. Coating chemistry and process route also need their own assessment. The selected arrangement, equipment boundaries and interfaces are recorded in the agreed technical scope.

Can all published maximum specifications be achieved together?

Not necessarily. A product-family range is not a guarantee that maximum width, thickness, strength, speed and annual output can all be reached at the same time. The feasible operating window depends on the material, product mix, equipment configuration and process conditions.

Annual capacity must account for the pass schedule or line speed, operating hours, coil changes, maintenance and product yield. Thickness tolerance, flatness, coating quality and energy figures require defined measurement and acceptance conditions. Confirm the configuration and test product matrix with PRC rather than combining limits from different models or routes.

What is included in a complete-line project?

The scope may include process and equipment selection, main and auxiliary equipment, electrical systems, automation, interface documents, installation supervision, commissioning and operator training. A complete-line contract does not automatically mean responsibility for the entire factory or every building service.

The technical agreement should identify who supplies foundations, buildings, cranes, external utilities, installation labour, test materials and local approvals. It should also define drawings, deliverables, performance tests, spare parts and service responsibilities. PRC also discusses individual equipment supply and revamps where a complete line is not required.

What site conditions and utilities should the customer prepare?

Prepare the workshop dimensions, floor levels, crane capacity, access and logistics, existing foundations and maintenance clearances. Provide the available electrical supply, cooling water, compressed air, ventilation and any process-specific media relevant to the chosen equipment.

Foundation loads, connection points, supply quality and flow requirements must come from the selected design; generic consumption figures should not be used as construction data. Coordinate material storage, coil handling, emergency access and the boundary between supplier and customer works. Local safety, environmental and construction requirements also need to be considered for the project location.

How are delivery, installation and acceptance planned?

A project normally progresses through requirement clarification, technical-scope confirmation, design and interface review, manufacture, agreed factory checks, shipping, site installation, commissioning and acceptance. Some stages may overlap only when the agreed interfaces and responsibilities allow it.

The schedule depends on the configuration, supply chain, transport, foundation readiness, local works and availability of utilities, raw material and trained operators. This website does not promise a fixed delivery period for every line. The contract and project plan should set milestones, inspection points, test conditions and the records required for handover.

Can an existing line be upgraded instead of replaced?

A revamp assessment needs the original equipment and electrical drawings, drive and control information, operating data, product defects, maintenance history and the target improvement. Photographs and sample quality records help distinguish equipment limitations from process or material issues.

PRC can discuss the mechanical, electrical, automation and auxiliary-system scope against the equipment condition and the available shutdown window. Interfaces, retained components, safety responsibilities and commissioning arrangements must be agreed before implementation. A higher capacity or tighter tolerance should not be promised until the limiting factors and the proposed configuration have been assessed.

What happens after I send an enquiry or fill in the CRM questionnaire?

Use the contact form for your project requirements and select the relevant product or process. Keep the on-screen confirmation and reference number when one is returned; if the page reports that submission is not confirmed, keep your text and contact PRC by email or WhatsApp.

Choose Questionnaire at the bottom right, select a line and fill in the technical requirements and reply email. Click Submit questionnaire and retain the returned PRC-Q reference. Merely filling fields or printing a PDF does not submit it. If saving fails, keep the page open and retry; you may also print a PDF and send it to your PRC contact.
