Where the quality of a steel pipe line is decided
Finished-pipe quality is decided jointly by the forming, welding, sizing and cutting sections. The line was configured around the finished pipe range, covering decoiling, forming, welding, sizing, straightening, cut-to-length sawing and collection, with the degree of automation for inspection and bundling set by the product positioning.
Scope as general contractor
PRC took the line as general contractor: from the process and equipment concept and equipment sourcing, through on-site installation, commissioning and start-up support — one party accountable for delivery and one interface for the owner.
After start-up
Once in production, attention moves to the stability of continuous operation: changeover time, yield, and consistency of weld and pipe-end quality. PRC continues to provide commissioning support and operator training through performance acceptance.
